I believe that students learn best when they are active participants in the learning process. I therefore promote student participation in the academic areas that we cover in class. I use a variety of methods including cooperative learning, job shadowing, portfolios, active use of technology as well as what can be considered “normal” classroom techniques. I try to get my students to develop skills that will help them across the curriculum.

I set high standards for my students and work to provide them with the tools they will need to succeed outside of school. I hope to serve as a positive role model to my students, to create a nurturing classroom environment, to promote self-esteem, to enable students to grow both in and out of the classroom, and to prepare students to face the challenges of life.
