Introduction

 Who is the neighbor state to the north of Iowa?   What is the state bird of Missouri?  Do you know the state capital of Wisconsin?  Where is Illinois?  What does the state flag of South Dakota look like? What is the state bird of Nebraska?  What do you know about your own state of Iowa?  You will be finding out the answers to these questions by doing this WebQuest on Iowa and its neighbors!!
 


The Task

Using Kidspiration, you will make and label a map of Iowa and its neighboring states. 
You will make a poster of Iowa or one of its neighboring states to share with the class.

Find the geography library on the left of the screen

Erase first idea

Find and drag the Iowa map to the center of the page

Label Iowa

Step 7

Find and drag each of the neigboring  states to the correct position around Iowa

Label each state

Write your name at the top

Make a State Poster

Step 1

The teacher will divide you into seven groups.

Step 2

Your group will draw a state name from a box.

Step 3

You will choose a job to do.  (Bird watcher, flag raiser, flower picker, capital city visitor, and state vacationer.)

Conclusion
You have learned the name of our state and all of the states that are our neighbors.  You learned the names of the capital cities of these states.  You have learned lots of fun facts about these states. Some of you may have found some great places to go and visit with your families!
