What is a paragraph?

A paragraph is a group of sentences that tells about one main idea. The topic sentence states the main idea of a paragraph. Supporting sentences develop the main idea.

A comparison paragraph tells about the likenesses between two objects, people, places or ideas.

The Writing Process

Step One: Prewriting is getting and exploring ideas. This is not always an easy thing to do.

Step Two: Writing is the time to get all your ideas on paper. Don't worry about neatness or spelling. Don't worry about putting your ideas in the best order. Just write!

Step Three: Revising is when you look at what you wrote and make it better.

Step Four: Publishing is sharing what you have written. It may be mailing your letter, putting your work on the internet, or making a book. Just make sure that you have fixed all your errors and have a neat product to share.
