The class benchmarks for the first grade are as follows:
Standard 1: Sing, alone and with others, a varied repertoire of music.
*Discriminate between pitch and volume
*Discriminate between high and low pitches
*Demonstrate an understanding of singing on pitch
Standard 2: Perform on instruments, alone and with others, a varied repertoire of music.
*Demonstrate independence in performing on instruments
Standard 3: Read and notate music.
*Demonstrate the ability to read rhythm and pitch
Standard 4: Listen to, analyze, and describe music and music performances.
*Demonstrate the ability to listen to music and move appropriately
*Demonstrate the ability to perform a variety of music
