We use a dot chart to monitor classroom behavior.
Every student begins the day with a green dot.
-A green dot means the student is on task and doing what
they should be doing.
-If a student is off-task, talking, hitting, etc. his/her dot changes.
-The first dot change is to yellow. A yellow dot is a warning.
-The next time a student gets their dot changed, it’s 1 blue dot.
When a student gets 1 blue dot they lose 5 minutes of recess time.
-The next time it’s 2 blue dots, which means 10 minutes of recess time.
-3 blue dots means 15 minutes of recess time.
-The next change is a red dot. If a student gets a red dot, a note is sent home to their parents.
- We will also follow work on not tattling in class. I will encourage students to work things out amongst themselves in a polite way working together. If it is an emergency or there is blood or an injury involved, then telling the teacher will ALWAYS be allowed. We will discuss appropriate and inappropriate situations for telling the teacher.
- I would like to create a safe and comfortable learning environment for all the students. We will continually be learning and discussing that "Golden Rule" of treating others they way that you wish to be treated.
