Article III: Selection of members
Section 1: The selection of members to this chapter shall be by majority vote of the Faculty Council appointed by the principal.
Section 2: Candidates eligible for selection to this chapter must be either full-time juniors or seniors at Griswold High School who have been in attendance for a period of at least one semester at Griswold High School.
Section 3: Candidates eligible for selection to this chapter must have a minimum cumulative weighted grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
Section 4: Prior to selection, the following shall occur:
- Students’ academic records shall be reviewed to determine scholastic eligibility.
- Students who are eligible scholastically (“candidates”) shall be notified and asked to complete and submit the Student Information Profile on which they document their high school activities, leadership, awards, and community service for further consideration for selection.
- The faculty of Griswold High School shall be requested to evaluate candidates on leadership, service, and character on an official evaluation form provided by the chapter advisor.
- The Faculty Council shall review the Student Information Profile and faculty evaluations in order to determine membership.
Section 5: The selection of new members shall be held once a year in the first semester with the induction ceremony occurring before the end of the first semester.
Section 6: Candidates become members when inducted at a ceremony.
