School Meals & Wellness

The Griswold Community School District Administration and Board of Education are committed to the health and wellness of all its students, including providing a comprehensive learning environment for developing and practicing lifelong wellness behaviors at every age level, in and out of the classroom.

Meals:

The school offers both breakfast and lunch to all students. Breakfast costs $2.00 and lunch costs $2.70 for PS-5th grade and $2.90 for 6th-12th grade. Families are encouraged to submit an application for free / reduced meals each year. Reduced meals cost $0.30 for breakfast and $0.40 for lunch. If you are in need of an application for free/reduced price meals, please contact Hannah Bierbaum. Applications can be filled out anytime during the school year.

Wellness:

To support these initiatives, the district creates wellness goals and regularly reviews them to ensure they reflect the current needs of our district. These goals have been incorporated into our "Wellness Regulation" Board policy and can be viewed here.

These goals are established with the help of the School Improvement Advisory Committee (SIAC). The district encourages public participation in the development, implementation, and review of the policy. If you are interested in participating in such committee or have questions about the policy, please contact the Superintendent.

The district's most recent wellness progress report can be viewed at the link below.
